2017 Summer Camp Dates
June 12-16 thru Aug 14-18
Pleasant Valley Kid's Camp provides an indoor-outdoor environment where children participate together in arts and crafts, and equine activities. We take beginners to advanced riders, ages 5 and up. We have over 20 horses to choose from and offer lots of riding time. We are concerned primarily with child safety. Our second goal is for your child to have such a great time that they want to return again and again!
Advanced Riders Age 10-16
Monday - Friday with one overnight
FULL DAY ONLY
Beginner to Intermediate Riders
Ages 5 - 15
Monday - Friday
Jr Camp Half Day Available
As our riders continue to improve, we must continue to find ways to challenge them. Our advanced campers must know how to ride and want to experience a variety of riding challenges. This camp includes trailering out to an off-site location and have one overnight.
Pleasant Valley Horse Club emphasizes a balanced seat with self carriage by both horse and rider, achieving harmony, balance and unity. Our gentle approach teaches students to understand horses and develope educated, compassionate equine values as horsemen.
These camps can take place away from the PVHC barn. We will trailer off-site to work in evironments that will allow us to challenge our students. We work in the arena and on trails to get horse and rider prepared for most riding situations and disciplines. Through this method, our students achieve the skills that are required to ride and show. Additionally, each rider will be responsible for the care of their horse for these 5 days learning about propper care, grooming and feeding.
Due to the intensity of this program, we are limited to 5 campers per session to ensure each student is getting focused attention.
For campers who would like to bring their own horse, we can accommodate your horse in a stall at PVHC for $12 per night. We would like to set up trial lesson with you and your horse prior to camp so we can get to know the two of you.
Beginner and Intermediate Camp
Each camper is paired up with a horse and leader for the week. The leader is an advanced PVHC student who is there with the camper during lesson time while the camp director is giving instructions to the group. This allows the campers to learn together as a group under the supervision of our adult staff, but also to receive one-on-one attention from their leader.
PVHC only accepts 15 riders per week in order to keep up high standards of safety and quality (this also keeps the ratio of campers to adults at no more than 5 to 1 during all riding times). Sign up for the dates you want early, before space fills up!
Please call our office, 831-763-2733, to register for camp. A $100 non-refundable deposit per child is required to hold your space.
Our horse camp caters to beginner, intermediate and advanced riders. Campers will participate in a variety of activities: daily horse lessons in the arena, daily trail ride, equine education time, rescue horse care(the kids get to help care for one of our most recent rescue horses), swimming, obstacle courses, target practice, and crafts.
