General Philosophy
We have chosen Natural Horsemanship as our guiding philosophy. Often referred to as "horse whisperer" training, this is a gentle way of relating to and guiding the horse and rider without being harsh. The goal of the horse and the rider is to form respect for each other. Students learn about the nature of horses and how to work with that nature to build confidence and trust in the relationship between horse and rider.
When you learn to ride at PVHC, you will first have a one-on-one with your head trainer present and chat about your goals and why you want to ride. The trainer will put together a plan for you and your horse to complete a successful journey. You learn to build a relationship with the horse, which takes time and you will not move on until you have succeeded at your goal in a safe and confident manner.
We are not a flashy outfit, but we are family run and we are good. We are not here to impress anyone except your horse. The horse usually knows what to do, now it's your job to learn, while building a great relationship with your equine partner.
