She has a gregarious personality and gets along well with both kids and trainers at PVHC. Alex's favorite horse, to whom she is fully devoted, is Little Mouse, a sixteen year old Arabian. She dreams of being a traveling vet one day, but in the meanwhile is thrilled to be working with the kids and rescue horses at Pleasant Valley Horse Club.

We have cool EVENTS, please take a look.

The Leadership Team is a group of 12-17 year old individuals who have shown consistency and commitment to equitation, and to Pleasant Valley Horse Club. Together the Leadership Team helps newer students through their early lessons; assists with tacking horses; feeding, watering, and mucking stalls; ensure all the horses are ridden; take the Kid's Camp participants on trail rides, and basically help the Club run smoothly. These teenagers also take regular lessons, and perform in horse shows around the area. In the afternoons the Leadership Team works with horses on the ranch.

You learn to teach your own students (supervised by an adult trainer), retrain horses using Natural Horsemanship, prepare for horse shows, take care of tack including putting together bridles and fit a saddle to a horse. You can learn health maintenance and care. You learn how to be a part of running a horse camp and barn management.

To be in the Leadership Team means that you develop positive working relationships with your teammates, responsibility for the horses, and lead younger students in a healthy and safe environment for learning.

You have a choice of participation M-W-F or M-F. Please see rates for the Leadership Program on our Rates page.

The Leadership Team members at Pleasant Valley Horse Club earn credit toward their high school community service requirements.

Meet LucasLucas

Lucas doubles as a member of the Leadership team and an Instructor at Pleasant Valley Horse Club. At 15 Lucas has already won the AA California State Championships for Barrel Racing in 2005, and he is beginning the new season circuit of shows with the rest of the Leadership Team this summer. Despite his playfulness and joking nature, it doesn't take long to see that his first concern is for the safety of the children and the horses.

Lucas is the primary member of the Leadership Team. He consistently ensures that the kids in the Kid's Camp and young riders in the Horse Club are well taken care of. Lucas also spends a lot of time with his own brother, Greyson. He provides a helping hand and direction to all of us at the club, including his peers. Top
